Assemblages
These personal three-dimensional artistic assemblages made of miscellaneous prepared objects and/or found materials have usually been made to honor a particular person, place or experience. Some objects I find I want to hold onto. These objects somehow conjure certain states of mind as memories, sensations, emotions. To understand this I might gather a selection of these objects in front of me and handle them while following my thoughts. Soon they may begin to fit together with one another, like notes in a phrase of music or words in a sentence - they begin to speak through their symbolism. In context with each other the meaning of these objects is understood. An expression is made.
