Woodwork

I have a preference for designing pieces that are intimately connected with the preservation of family rituals, traditions and unity. As this translates into woodwork there is the "Balance Altar" upon which one may set ones focal point objects. The inverted triangle shape isn't what one typically associates with stability. Here it is intended to represent the symbol for female energy and  the rock steady concerns of the maternal. Next to it is a "Three Tiered Hutch" which is used as a keep-safe tower for ones family images and objects. The 12 glass windows can be changed to hold other 2-D images. The Redoute prints of fruits that one sees currently can be replaced with  any image. Perforated  sheets of tin could be inserted for the sides and the hutch could then become a pie-safe. This piece is inspired from a Pennsylvania Dutch Pie Safe which was common in many kitchens.
