Despite the diverse art styles in the content below, this assortment of art work was selected due to its similarity in my attempt to achieve a sense of inner light. I wished for the subject to appear as if it was radiating an inner energy source - as if drawing light and reflecting it outward.
I tried to achieve this impression by crafting the painting using several painting techniques. One was to darken the background and blur any identifiable reference to a single light source and its side effect - shadows. The second way was to choose color arrangements that gave off an intensity akin to energy.
